A double bass as a solo instrument? Unheard of - in the best sense of the word. In this concert evening, piano and double bass meet at eye level: lyrical, virtuosic, sonorous.

The dark, warm sound of the bass has a special effect, especially in winter. The exceptional young artist Sasha Witteveen takes us on a musical journey that reveals the full range of this deep instrument - from elegiac tranquillity to dance-like lightness. A musical rendezvous that surprises, touches and inspires.

WITH: Sasha Witteveen, double bass and Jorian van Nee, piano

Sasha Witteveen is an award-winning double bass player who performs as a soloist and chamber musician on renowned stages such as the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Vienna Musikverein. She is currently studying with Rick Stotijn at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf.

Jorian van Nee is a versatile Dutch pianist and composer, trained at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He has performed with renowned orchestras as well as in radio and TV productions and has won numerous competitions.

An introductory artist talk with Sasha Witteveen and Jorin van Nee will take place at 19:00.
