Politics & Poetry - Cabaret by Sunna Huygen

The times are uncertain, the fun is over. Or is it?

Sunna simply takes her audience into the forest to laugh. Even there, patriarchal unease and undemocratic machinations lurk behind many an oak tree. Nevertheless, the cabaret evening finds its way through the impenetrable thicket of today's identity crises, social fears and fragile concepts of freedom. Who are we and who puts out the fire when the forest burns? Is it a crime to remain inactive?

Along the way, creatures cross the path. They are (un)sympathetic and do not explain the world. Perhaps they offer shelter.

Sunna has feminism, punchlines and poetry in her luggage... and whenever things get nasty, light music plays.

Between doomsday scenarios and naughty weeds, there are opportunities to help shape the future. With humor and solidarity? Absolutely!
