The Third Hand
Surrealist puppet theater
Puppets, beads and sequins. Old photos and family stuff. Gramophones and X-rays. "The Third Hand" is a panopticon of energetically charged figures and objects - a revue-like microcosm that offers unexpected, surrealistic stories, images and anomalies to tell, among other things, the rapid development from single-celled organisms to the apotheosis of man. Asian theatrical traditions and Mexican funerary rituals as well as various deities and images of saints are just as much sources of inspiration as Czech variety puppetry or the "alternative" puppet aesthetics represented by Paul Klee or many artists of Art brut.

Handa Gote Research & Development (Czech Republic)
Handa Gote Research & Development has been working at the interface between theater, contemporary dance, visual arts, music and performance since 2005. The ensemble is particularly interested in post-dramatic theater and non-linear narratives. With the project "The Third Hand", Handa Gote returns to puppet theater and follows in the footsteps of his own production "Sapphire Head", which was a reconstruction of a forgotten puppet project from the 1990s. Handa Gote's latest production is also unpredictable and surprisingly unconventional thanks to its subtle humor.
