Carnival has heart - that is once again the motto for Carnival Thursday at the Viktualienmarkt. On February 12, 2026, there will once again be a colourful program in the center of Munich for all carnival fans.

Hot phase of the Munich street carnival begins

The hot phase of the Munich street carnival is always heralded on Carnival Thursday. Associations from the city and the surrounding area have joined forces under the title "Fasching hat Herz" ("Carnival has heart") and together with Markthallen München, a colorful carnival is held at the Viktualienmarkt. Traditionally, the carnival guards, including the Narrhalla, perform on stage on this day.
