An evening of extremes

Conductor Teodor Currentzis seeks extremes - and finds them in music. To this end, he regularly selects gripping works whose intensity perfectly showcases the qualities of his self-founded orchestra Utopia. This time, the journey leads from the overwhelming force of Gustav Mahler's First Symphony to Alban Berg's tender yet harrowing Violin Concerto, played by the virtuoso violinist Vilde Frang.
