Vernissage of the art exhibition by Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow:

Brigitte Yoshiko Pruchnow's works unfold pictorial spaces in which reality and inner imagination merge. Her painting moves between personal memory, archetypal pictorial motifs and narrative fragments reminiscent of fairy tales and collective myths. The pictures appear as open scenes in which biographical traces, inner states and symbolic meanings come together.

The focus is often on girls or childlike heroines who take on the roles of fairy-tale characters. They embody courage, self-empowerment and transformation and confront real or imagined threats - a pictorial confrontation with fear, vulnerability and resilience.

Animals, symbolic forms and everyday motifs such as bread, cakes and fruit expand these pictorial spaces. In seemingly surreal constellations, proportions shift, objects enter into unexpected relationships or develop an independent presence. Between dream, fairy tale and lived reality, pictorial worlds emerge that appear both familiar and enigmatic.
