Emotional artificial intelligence is regarded as the key technology of the future. Artificial systems should be compassionate and trigger empathy in us. But how do artificial systems recognize and process human emotions? Can they feel and develop real feelings and empathy? Does the development of pain-sensitive robots in biorobotics lead to the dissolution of the boundary to biological organisms?
