SLOWKLAHOMA

In Victor Gelling's fantasy, Slowklahoma is a place where North America meets Europe: the myth of America meets GDR heroes and demented grandfathers. To jangle pop, alternative country, synths and Americana twang, he sings about mental unhealth, the first German in space, waiting fathers, wild boars and conspiracy theories about Andy Kaufman. A sound for areas without the sea, where the Baltic Sea and the Spreewald are enough - and for all those who don't just wear cowboy hats ironically.

MYTHOS AMERIKA Monster Truck Shows, Superman, Coca Cola - MYTHOS AMERIKA take up the pop cultural myths of the 20th and 21st centuries. Casual grooves merge with surreal lyrics, guitars with synthesizers, humor with outrage. With deconstructivist verve, the Cologne-based trio collages set pieces from 1000 years of music history to create a counter-world to reality. After the debut JUGEND TRAINIERT FÜR OLYMPIA (2023, baumusik), the second album VIVE LE CINEMA will be released on May 23, 2025.

✨VERSTÄRKER ✨ In this concert series - always on the third Friday of the month - very different bands play. Sometimes they come from the region, sometimes from further afield. Groups and solo musicians who would like to play at Verstärker should get in touch with us. We then curate the evenings in a way that results in a nice and surprising mix for bands and audience. Free admission, a hat goes round - and the bar is open afterwards.
