VIELSCHICHTIG - Zellen, Gewebe, Struktur

In the organizer's words:

The basic building blocks of life - cells and tissue - are the starting point for the exhibition VIELSCHICHTIG, which will be on display at the GEDOK Hamburg art forum from October 12-30, 2025. The textile artist Julia Hühne-Simon develops multidimensional surface worlds using a variety of textile materials or handmade paper. The works thematize organic structures, transformations and phenomena of nature: an interplay of the concrete and the abstract, of natural form and artistic interpretation. The pictures, objects, assemblages and mixed-media works on display are multi-layered in the truest sense of the word and raise questions - about the diversity and interconnectedness of all life and about man's responsibility towards his natural environment.
