The Vokalorchester NRW brings together some of the most exciting jazz singers in the country. With impressive musical creativity, they improvise entire songs a cappella, creating fantastic, often completely surprising worlds of sound. Their ensemble functions like a living orchestra - without instruments, but with an enormous palette of vocal colors, rhythms and textures.
The program is complemented by extraordinary compositions by Theo Bleckmann and Meredith Monk, whose avant-garde sound aesthetics blend perfectly with the improvisational energy of the ensemble.
