A young scene production with ensemble members of the Junges LTT - 14 + -

A group of young people look outside. What they see shocks them. The climate crisis, social division, exclusion, social inequality, the rise of right-wing populism. They realize: They don't want to be taken in by this reality. They want to shape things, not capitulate. So they make a decision: they build a house. A visionary house. A house on a foundation of RESPECT, SOLIDARITY, TRUTH, EQUAL RIGHTEOUSNESS, DIVERSITY, FREEDOM. But as the building grows, so does the realization that ideals are not static constructs. They require confrontation. What does it mean to embody values such as respect or solidarity? Is this house really open to everyone? What does equality in practice look like? Does freedom demand boundaries?

To mark the 40th anniversary of the JUNGEN LTT, the renowned author Milan Gather has developed a playful discourse piece based on the thoughts and perspectives of the JUNGEN SZENE ensemble. The young people's house becomes a parable and negotiates the big questions of social cohesion with a fine sense of nuance.
