Catalonia, the region around Barcelona in the north-east of the Iberian Peninsula, has always been a little different from the rest of Spain. The Catalan identity is reflected in the colorful, imaginative architecture of Antoni Gaudí as well as in the local music scene. It can now be experienced for a long weekend as part of the "Catalunya" festival in the Elbphilharmonie. In addition to the music, a panel discussion on Saturday afternoon offers the opportunity to delve even deeper.
