What does Fair Trade mean for producers, especially for small farmers and harvest workers, who are among the weakest players in the supply chain? How can consumers keep track of the "seal jungle" and which organizations shape fair trade?
The lecture on fair trade provides information on the importance of fair trade relations for producers in the Global South. The focus is on the situation of small farmers, who are often among the weakest players in global supply chains. It will also show how fair trade can contribute to better living and working conditions through minimum prices, long-term trade relationships and social standards.
Another focus is the so-called "seal jungle": the presentation explains which fair trade seals provide guidance when shopping and which organizations and initiatives are behind fair trade.
Afterwards, participants are invited to an open discussion and Q&A session.
