Lecture by Dr. Anže Žerdoner Čalasan(Botanical State Collection Munich).
Fractal structures are omnipresent in nature: the branches of trees, fine leaf veins, branching river courses or the organic growth of fungi and corals. They are created by simple processes that are repeated many times, thus combining order and variation. The lecture sheds light on how evolution playfully experiments with these principles to produce a fascinating variety of forms and patterns.
