As part of the Queere Moderne exhibition, art historian Bigna Guyer presents the life and work of Sonja Sekula (1918 - 1963), an important but underrepresented artist in 20th century art history. Based on the exhibited painting Silence (1951), the focus will be on the unspoken, the silence (or lack thereof) with regard to the art historical canon, but also on Sekula's own poetics of silence.
