Advent musical anticipation in English

For this year's Christmas program, CHORWERK RUHR has invited Benjamin Goodson, current chief conductor of the Netherlands Radio Choir, as guest conductor and, together with him, who spent his childhood and youth in England, has created an entirely English concert program that opens the door to the illustrious English choral scene of today in the glittering light of Advent. The playlist includes James Mac Millans' radiant movement "O Radiant Dawn" as well as "Illuminare Jerusalem" by Judith Weir, the grande dame of English choral music; Ralph Vaughn Williams' arrangement of the popular carol "This is the truth sent from above" is just as eye-catching as Ben Parry's swinging and sparkling "Jingle Bells". Also on board as an instrumental treat - Vincent van Amsterdam, internationally renowned accordion virtuoso, who will enrich one or two of the Christmas carols instrumentally and also shine as a soloist.
