What awaits you

We meet at the main train station in Halle and travel together to Großkorbetha, where the actual tour starts. First we cross the Saale, then we follow it upstream through a dreamy floodplain landscape before coming across impressive historical monuments. One highlight, for example, is the "church without a village", a remnant of the settlement of Treben, which fell into desolation in the Middle Ages. The remains of an even older Slavic cemetery are also fascinating. The trail then continues through natural alluvial forest before revealing views of the vineyards opposite near Burgscheidungen - the first in the Saale-Unstrut region. Finally, we reach the old residential town of Weißenfels with its baroque castle "Neu-Augustusburg" via Klemmbergpark. From there, we once again enjoy wonderful views of the town and the Saale valley before starting our return journey from the nearby train station.

The tour has a quiet magic and combines a natural river meadow with historical places and an often underestimated beauty: Weißenfels.

Participation & registration

• The number of participants is limited to 20 people.
• Please book your ticket in good time to secure your place.
• You will receive the exact meeting point and arrival details approximately 2-3 weeks before the tour after booking your ticket.

Catering & tips

• We will take a longer break on the way - please bring something for a small picnic.
• Please make sure you have enough water with you (possibly also something warm, tea or similar).
• We'll meet at the main station and travel together - it's a bonding experience and feels like a hiking day in the past. Of course, you can also come directly to the starting point of the tour if you prefer.
• Participation is at your own risk.
• The tour takes place in all weathers (except storms or similar) - so sturdy shoes, weatherproof clothing and a good mood are a must 😉
