Wanderung: Zur Burg Schönburg

In the organizer's words:

Rustic forests, historic paths and a medieval hilltop castle

Hiking excursion: to Schönburg Castle

What awaits you

We meet at the main train station in Halle and travel together to Leißling, where the actual tour starts. From the train stop, it is only a few meters into the almost untouched nature. We follow winding paths through the "Vier Berge" nature reserve with its ancient forests and historic paths. We pass the beautiful Franzosental valley and reach Schönburg Castle via the spectacular geological trail. It sits majestically on a 40 m high sandstone rock directly above the Saale. From its keep, we enjoy the sweeping view down and into the surrounding countryside (see photo). Several resting places in the castle courtyard invite you to linger. Afterwards, we take an alternative route through rustic forests back to the starting point. The Leißling stop is then the destination of our circular tour again, and from there we return to Halle together. This tour is one of the absolute highlights in the Saale-Unstrut region!

My preference: quiet paths, ancient places of power, the most beautiful views. I would like to share my passion with you here and invite you to come with me - into the breathtaking, mysterious and beautiful nature on your doorstep. I look forward to seeing you there!
