When you think of Leipzig as a city of music, three calling cards immediately spring to mind: The Gewandhaus Orchestra, the St. Thomas Boys' Choir - and amarcord, the vocal ensemble with the unmistakable sound. It was founded in 1992 by former members of the St. Thomas Boys' Choir. And at home and abroad, it has quickly established itself as a quality name for the art of the most homogeneous, indeed perfected a cappella singing in all respects. For many years, the five singers have repeatedly taken the time to come to Darmstadt a few days before Christmas for a very atmospheric program, in which they cover a range from very old Christmas vocal music to well-known Christmas carols from all over the world.
