The Christmas village at Büchel - enjoyment, music and a lot of heart

From November 20 to December 20, 2025, the Platz für Demokratie will once again be transformed into a cosy Christmas village full of scents, music and good cheer. As in previous years, many familiar faces and some exciting newcomers will be providing food and drink and a varied program.

Of course, the North Pole and South Pole from Bahkauv Brew will be there again to provide you with mulled wine, mulled beer, hot cocktails, beer and wine. David Morlock will also be back with his popular cheese spaetzle and will even be bringing a new food truck with crispy fish & chips this year!

Our friends from Argentina will be baking their delicious fresh empanadas, and Dako from Leana & Luise will be enchanting with crêpes and sweet treats in the crispy house. Brand new: Knödelei, which offers hearty bread dumplings with various sauces and toppings, perfect for cold winter days.

Faruk from Cafe Mundus will once again be providing the right amount of caffeine with his great coffee specialties, cocoa and fresh pastries, and our chestnut queen Julia will of course be there too, spreading the most Christmassy scent all over the square with her hot chestnuts.

But it's not just food and drink that will be on offer, there will also be plenty of Christmas shopping: Steppenstrolch will be selling warm woollens, and a colorful selection of gift ideas awaits you in the artists' tent, from tree decorations by Lasercut-Manufaktur Laserkatze to illustrations by Julia Schneider ("Jot S Art") and Lara Bispick ("Everywhere You Go") and fine spices by Cardamone.

Of course, the cultural program is not to be missed! Our Christmas elf and cultural curator Dina Bharucha has once again put together a varied program for you, with over 50 different acts providing the atmosphere and festive moments this year. Classics such as DJ Fishmoon for the opening are not to be missed, Saitenhieb, who have been bringing the place to the boil for three years now, and our resident DJ Yousef Elis will of course be there again. New on stage are The Locals, Raki and Ert, among others.

Sunday remains a traditional family day, and on Tuesday the StudiTag offers a 10% discount for all students.

So: dress warmly, grab your friends, family and colleagues and visit us at the Christmas village at Büchel. Immerse yourself in a cozy, contemplative world and leave the stress behind for a few wonderful moments at the gates of the village.
