Die-hard red wine lovers remain true to their habits and enjoy powerful, heavy fireside wines even on hot summer days. But even die-hard white wine drinkers sometimes feel like a glass of red wine in summer. And let's be honest: when the sun is blazing down from the sky and the thermometer reaches the 40 degree mark, it can be an uncomplicated, perhaps even slightly chilled red wine.

The southern wine-growing countries of Europe show us how wonderfully this works: in Italy, for example, with a fruity Dolcetto or in France with charming cuvées from Provence. These wines are usually vinified without any noticeable use of wood. The result is lively, juicy red wines with an unrestrained drinking flow - perfect for enjoying in large, pleasurable sips.

Despite their lightness, they impress with beautiful fruit, fine spice and a wonderful harmony with grilled food. So why not discover what other countries have mastered to perfection?

In our "Red wine for summer" wine tasting, we taste five different wines - from Italy, France, Austria, Spain or Germany, depending on your choice. We serve small snacks and water to go with them - for an all-round harmonious taste experience.

Everyone who appreciates uncomplicated, stimulating red wines and genuine winemaking craftsmanship and enjoys exchanging ideas with other wine enthusiasts is welcome. In the historic rooms of Villa Berta, we find the perfect setting for this - stylish, cozy and with plenty of room for stimulating conversations and good wines.

Weather permitting, we move part of the wine tasting to our enchanted garden. We can't quite conjure up the real Provence feeling with fragrant lavender fields and Mediterranean landscapes in Leverkusen - but the wines in the glass bring a piece of summer from the south directly to us.
