The world's best gymnasts will be given a spectacular stage in Frankfurt / Main this year. From August 12 - 16, 2026, around 300 gymnasts will compete for the title at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Frankfurt's Festhalle. In Frankfurt's Festhalle, all eyes will be on a gymnast who is currently the measure of all things in this sport. Darja Varfolomeev became the most successful athlete of the multi-sport event at the finals in Dresden with five DM titles. The 18-year-old schoolgirl won five out of a possible six world championship titles at the last world championships in 2025. The year before, she was the outstanding Olympic champion in Paris and was subsequently named Germany's Sportswoman of the Year. Alongside Varfolomeev, teammates such as Margarita Kolosov, fourth at the Olympics in Paris, Anastasia Simakova, European Championship silver medal winner and World Championship bronze medal winner in 2025, and the German group, European Championship bronze medal winners in 2025, also have their sights firmly set on the World Championships and will go into the battle for the team medals as defending champions.
