Hazel and Maggie want the day to be perfect for their youngest sister Sylvia, as she is marrying Marek today. No detail can be left to chance. The wedding is the best day of your life, isn't it?

And yet there's a last-minute dress crisis, the bride's father forgets the groom's name and there's a fight at the end. The longer the evening, the more booming the music and the stronger the alcohol, the deeper old wounds reopen. Long-suppressed conflicts, deep-seated racism, old secrets and political quarrels dominate the characters. This wedding party becomes a microcosm of an entire milieu.

Captivating, complex and with a tragedy that could not be more comic, the play poses the question: what happens to people who look to a hopeless future?
