Alois Rottenaicher has been director of the Academic Orchestra Association, Munich's oldest university orchestra (since 1898), since 2002.
He was a music teacher at the Gymnasium Markt Schwaben, temporary solo repetiteur and conductor at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, guest conductor at the Freie Landestheater Bayern and conductor of the Neuburger Kammeroper from 1994-2025.

Program:

Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847): Violin Concerto in E minor, op. 64
Bedrich Smetana (1824-1884): Symphonic poem "My Fatherland", 1-3: "Vysherad", "The Moldau", "Sarka".

Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto is a musical work that is very popular with audiences and violin virtuosos alike. It was completed in 1844. The premiere took place in Leipzig in 1845. B. Smetana composed the cycle of six symphonic poems entitled "My Fatherland" between 1874 and 1879. The premiere took place in Prague in 1882. In the individual works, the composer set national myths (e.g. "Sarka"), national history, the beauty of nature (e.g. "The Moldau") and Czech folk life in dance and song to music.
