Wilde Naturschönheit in Moosach: Entdeckungstour durch das „Virginia Depot“

The "Virginia Depot" is one of the most important dry biotopes in Munich with many rare and unusual animal and plant species. The area is protected and can only be visited on selected dates as part of a guided tour.

On Wednesday, June 10, LBV (Landesbund für Vogel- und Naturschutz) is organizing a guided tour of the early summer site. Special butterflies, birds, rare plants and lizards can be observed, including, with a bit of luck: swifts in the LBV breeding tower, sand lizards, checkerspot butterflies, blue-winged grasshoppers, viper's bugloss, kidney vetch and much more. Visitors also learn about the exciting history of the area, which has since been taken over by the US Army.
