On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the Bundeskunsthalle is dedicating a major immersive and visually powerful exhibition to the filmmaker and artist Wim Wenders from August 1.

The internationally acclaimed filmmaker became famous with works such as The Goalkeeper's Fear of the Penalty Kick (1972), Wrong Move (1975) and The American Friend (1977). His milestones include Paris, Texas (Palme d'Or 1984) and The Sky Over Berlin (1987). He received an Oscar nomination for Buena Vista Social Club (1999). In 2024, Perfect Days (2023) was also nominated for an Oscar and won Best Film in the Asia-Pacific region.
