Lecture by Dr. Isabella Hodgson
One hundred years ago, the German Atlantic Expedition (1925-1927) set out with the research vessel METEOR to systematically survey the South Atlantic. Diaries, reports and thousands of slides document not only the scientific results, but also the political background: In the crisis years of the Weimar Republic, the expedition was intended to strengthen Germany's reputation after the First World War and renew international cooperation. Research and politics were closely intertwined. In her lecture, the speaker will provide insights into the development of the exhibition: How do you prepare this material for different publications? And how do you incorporate different perspectives?
