Wolfgang Kleinschmidt - I am contradictory/ Exhibition of works

Wolfgang Kleinschmidt, born in Stettin in 1933, studied in Stockholm, at the Werkkunstschule in Kassel and in Paris, among other places. He has had several solo exhibitions and participations in Berlin, Constance, Nuremberg, Warsaw Kulturetage Bremerhaven, as well as several times in the supporting program of the Documenta in Kassel and participation in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His works have been purchased by the German Bundestag, the Lower Saxony state parliament, the district administration in Cuxhaven, museums and a large number in private collections. Wolfgang Kleinschmidt was awarded the Premio Dítalis Prize of Italy and won three prizes in the poetry competition of the Federal Republic of Germany in Esslingen in 1985. He was also mentioned on television in Japan for his calligraphic typefaces and in a large number of press articles.

He was a member of several international art associations. He said of himself, "Art is immense and often contradictory. The artist who makes art is complex. I am contradictory".
