Work-Life-Ballet

In the organizer's words:

"Grind* now - shine later." The credo from the world of self-optimization promises that those who work hard today will be rewarded tomorrow. But what shines here and at what price?

Work-Life-Ballet deals with work, work ethic and escape fantasies - a grotesque-poetic play between the demands of a meritocracy and individual strategies for dealing with them.

The piece asks: What possibilities of metabolization do our bodies have when the principles of performance culture affect them?

The stage becomes a surreal construction site: a place of permanent production, but also of disruption and failure. The ideal of smooth efficiency meets human limits.

Exaggerations and poetic images open up spaces for reflection: Is our relationship to work malleable? Are our bodies merely archives or places of revolt? How do we move through a world that never stands still?
