World Press Photo 2025

In the organizer's words:

Every year, the World Press Photo Foundation honors the best press photographs in an international competition. The award-winning photos are shown around the world in a traveling exhibition and attract several million visitors. From October 31 to November 30, the Kulturort Depot is partnering with the exhibition in Dortmund.

Whether a single image or a series - the photographs are moving, provide insights into social and personal conflicts and offer a look back at important news-related events of the past year.

The main aim of the World Press Photo Foundation is to support and promote professional press photographers internationally.

Admission

• Normal: 8,00 €
• Reduced: € 6.00 (pupils and students, people doing a voluntary social year or federal voluntary service, trainees and au pairs up to and including 27 years of age and Dortmund Pass holders on presentation of proof)
• Free admission: Children up to and including the age of 6, Accompanying persons with disabilities (severely disabled pass marked "B"). Press (upon presentation of press card) and winners of tickets from Facebook/Instagram Lotteries.
• Family ticket 1: € 20.00 (two adults with max. three children up to 18 years)
  Family ticket 2: €12.00 (one adult with max. three children up to 18 years)
• After-work ticket: €6.00 During the week from 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.

Coffee time at the weekend - coffee and cake are available in the Mittelhalle on Saturdays and Sundays. (While stocks last)

Guided tours

Ten public guided tours offer the opportunity to delve even deeper into the world of press photography. Photographers Jan Schmitz and Peter Lutz will guide visitors through the exhibition with photographic expertise and fascinating background information. Each tour lasts approximately one hour.

WEDNESDAYS, 05.11. / 12.11. / 19.11. / 26.11. each at 6:00 pm

SATURDAYS, 08.11. / 15.11. / 22.11. / 29.11. at 14:00 in each case

SUNDAYS, 09.11. at 13:00, 30.11. at 14:00

The duration of each tour is approx. one hour.

Group tours can be booked separately:

It is possible to book your own guided tours for a group (maximum 20 people). The price per guided tour is € 60.00 plus the entrance fee per participating person (€ 8 / € 6 reduced).

For school and student groups, the tour price is € 60.00 plus the special reduced admission price of € 3.00 per participating person. The accompanying teachers have Free admission. School tours are also offered before the regular opening hours from 09:00.

Please note: Dogs are not permitted.

The World Press Photo Foundation recommends visiting the exhibition from the age of 12.
