In the organizer's words:

Ulf Buermeyer - a lawyer who is passionate about fundamental rights and freedoms. Together with journalist Philip Banse, he has been publishing the weekly podcast Lage der Nation since 2016, which is one of the most successful and popular political podcasts in the country.

Julia Friedrichs - award-winning journalist. One focus of her work is showing and explaining social differences, which can turn out to be absurdly gigantic. Most recently in her book Crazy Rich.

Iris Sayram - lawyer and journalist. She has been reporting from the ARD capital city studio for two years. In her autobiographical book Für euch (For You), she confesses to coming from an extremely difficult background, which has made her fall into the magic potion of journalistic credibility.

Music: Inoyson - a refugee from the war in Ukraine, Inoyson is a regular guest at domicil, where her art is a source of incredulous amazement and great enthusiasm.

Where is the journey going? What does our future look like? What will become of our freedoms and the achievements of a modern society that people have fought for over the centuries?

It's hard to say ... especially as people have been rubbing their eyes in disbelief for some time now and have to realize that the former successful model of democracy is in crisis worldwide, that the disappointment with the present and the fear of the future is apparently so great for many people that they are looking for solutions in the past and putting their trust in authoritarian extremists and inhuman populists.

The uprising against this development is huge. The appreciation of civil liberties and the commitment to protecting them are the basis for a gigantic movement. Nevertheless, those who are committed to democracy must ask themselves what they can perhaps do better, or even differently, to prevent society from drifting further apart and to make trust in democracy the universal agreement for social coexistence.
