WRITING HAWA (AF, FR, NL, QA 2024 | 84 MIN) by Najiba Noori, Rasul Noori

In August 2021, the Taliban took over Afghanistan. Since then, 80 percent of all women under the age of 30 have been excluded from education and work. Najiba Noori, a journalist from Kabul, was able to flee at the right moment.

Together with Engagement Global, DOXS RUHR is inviting the director to Bochum with her award-winning film WRITING HAWA. The film is a tribute to her mother's resistance, her willingness to take risks and her tenacity - even in the most difficult political times.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Najiba Noori (director / Paris) and other guests.

The screening is organized in cooperation with ENGAGEMENT GLOBAL

Engagement Global GmbH is cooperating with DOXS RUHR as part of the Development-Related Education in Germany (EBD) program. The program aims to motivate people to take a critical look at global developments through information and educational measures and to encourage them to get involved themselves. Among other things, the program uses cultural and, in particular, cinematic educational formats to stimulate a variety of changes in perspective in the spirit of global learning.
