Zestival X

In the organizer's words:

6 bands. 1 stage. 1 family: The ZESTIVAL celebrates its 10th anniversary!

It started as a crazy idea in 2010: the four musicians from Munich underdogs "The Neighbours" simply brought all their second, third and fourth bands onto one stage - a festival between ska, hard rock, indie and black metal. A crazy mix of styles that made absolutely no sense on paper.

And yet it worked. Immediately. Somehow magical.

Because the Zestival doesn't just live from the music, but from the energy in the room: the metalhead moshing to the skabeat. The indie popper dancing to reggae. The 50-year-olds experiencing their first black metal band - and then simply chatting at the food stall afterwards. A bit of a family reunion, a bit of a festival, a bit of a party - simply different from everything else.

Ten years later, it's still an insider tip and that's how it should stay! No sponsoring, no hype machinery - just real music, family flair and the feeling of belonging.

This year:
The Neighbours - The nucleus: Hard rock, ska, indie, metal, polka, ballads and frickery. No style is too weird, no genre mix too daring - and it's fascinating how good it sounds.

Relatively Rapid - eight languages, ska/rock/Latin/Balkan sound, maximum dance factor. A band that builds bridges between continents - and where people dance until they drop.

Farbfilter - Poetic, political, true to life. Zesti veterans from various Munich bands, united in German-language indie rock. Always authentic, never arbitrary.

Jan Solo Project - Honest, handmade rock with melody, country and soul. From the family, for everyone - actually more than just a project.

Buracoustics - Istanbul guitarist Burak Kilickiran brings the sound of the Gezi Park scene there to his Munich home: Turkish and international rock songs with a band that communicates in four languages during rehearsals - somehow.

Don't Call Me Charlie - Neighbours drummer Bernie left behind musical offspring in Vienna. After a long break, this kinship returns - with funky anarcho-indie rock that defies pigeonholing.
