Zukunftsforum 2026 „Demokratie im Fokus – Nachhaltigen Wandel gemeinsam gestalten“

In the organizer's words:

How can we work together to shape sustainable change in the region? What role do democracy and social cohesion play in this? And how can we maintain our commitment even in times when fundamental democratic values are increasingly being called into question?

The Future Forum 2026 "Focus on Democracy - Shaping Sustainable Change Together" in Nuremberg is dedicated to these questions. It will take place on 7 and 8 May and offers a varied program of events.

The Future Forum is being organized by the civil society association forum1.5 Mittelfranken. Cooperation partners for the event days are the Nuremberg Education Center and the Green Office of FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg.

Thursday, May 7, 2026 | 19:00-20:30 hrs

Kick-off with panel discussion in the Nicolaus Copernicus Planetarium: "Democracy under stress. What holds us together in times of a shift to the right and fake news". The panel will discuss:

• Dr. Carolin Lano, Green Office TH Nuremberg Georg Simon Ohm
• Didem Karabulut, AGABY and BZI
• Stephan Doll, Alliance against Right-Wing Extremism
• Prof. Dr. André Bächtiger, Professor of Political Theory and Empirical Democracy Research at the University of Stuttgart

The discussion will be moderated by Jonas Miller, editor at Bayerischer Rundfunk, who will bring together the different perspectives and open up space for exchange. Further information and tickets are available here.
