Topics

How is democracy in Europe threatened by hybrid war, economic and political processes? What ideas are there on how we citizens can counter these threats and become active for a positive development of democracy?

Workshops

We invite all interested citizens to an open dialog and active participation. No prior knowledge is required. Following the discussion rounds, workshops will be offered in smaller groups - to deepen and start initiatives that can be continued in the subsequent period.

The following topics are planned:

  • How can dialog about war, peace and everything in between succeed? Introduction and practical workshop in the pedestrian zone
  • Social networks, artificial intelligence and the influence on democracy
  • New (grassroots) democratic forms of participation
  • Building / networking civil protest movements
  • Digital tools for dealing with disinformation and influence campaigns by authoritarian regimes

Target group

In addition to multipliers, we want to invite interested citizens from different areas of society. Commitment to democracy is more important than prior knowledge and expertise.

With the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, questions of security and civil society resilience have come to the fore. We are therefore focusing on the exchange with Ukrainian civil society and Ukrainian refugees - also in order to learn from their experiences.

The event is being held in cooperation with CRISP e.V., Berlin, the Ukrainian Coordination Center Dresden and DE-WIR.
