New York. A zoo. A love story: the two penguins Roy and Silo have known each other their whole lives. They get up together, play during the day and fall asleep together. They couldn't care less about penguin girls. They are obviously very fond of each other. So much so that they build a nest together in the hope of hatching an egg. Will the keepers allow the two penguins to become daddies?

Everything about this story is actually true: the case of the two male New York penguins who became parents was reported in the American media in 1998. It has also been scientifically proven that homosexuality is also common in the animal kingdom. But above all, it is true that this family is just like any other family.

The play "Zwei Papas für Tango" is based on the picture book narrated by Edith Schreiber-Wicke (*1943) and illustrated by Carola Holland, which won the Austrian Children's and Youth Book Prize in 2007.
