There is a lot of talk about Muslims and Islam in Germany - but the debates tend to be polarized. Questions about religion, culture and origin often get mixed up, so that differentiated perspectives hardly penetrate. The boundaries between criticism of religious practices and Islamophobia are blurred, which contributes to a distorted image and the normalization of anti-Muslim resentment.

Publicist Saba-Nur Cheema has been dealing with these developments for many years. On the zwinger-x stage, she will shed light on social challenges, show how certain narratives and misunderstandings arise and open up new ways to engage in a differentiated and constructive conversation about Muslim life.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion over tea, moderated by Leyla Jagiella from the Muslim Academy Heidelberg.
