Book presentation with the author Regine Mainka-Tersteegen

Regine Mainka-Tersteegen has set herself the task of translating the letters of Elector Max Emanuel of Bavaria to Agnés Lelouchier 1701-1716. This 400-page book was published in February 2026.

The confidential, private letters are very lively and spontaneous and provide an immediate insight into the princely world and the eventful and moving history of this couple between closeness and distance. They allow us to look at the stage of the great world theater of the time through the eyes of the two protagonists.

The author Regine Mainka-Tersteegen was recently awarded the Georg Pröpstl Prize of the Belgian-Bavarian Society for her work. This award at the Munich Residenz, together with an exhibition at the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt, marked the start of a series of events at Nymphenburg Palace and the Munich Residenz.

The book will be presented to the public at Schloss Fürstenried on May 10, 2026 and rounded off with a staged reading by Wulf Schmid Noerr.
