The association B-Movie Kulturinitiative auf St. Pauli is an independent cinema organized on a voluntary basis and has been an integral part of Hamburg's cultural scene since 1987. Free from commercial constraints and dependencies, we are committed to a multi-layered, unconventional cinema and cultural program.

B-Movie e.V. manages and runs the rooms in the backyard of Brigittenstraße 5. We curate thematically oriented monthly programs, which often include smaller, unknown and controversial films. For example, genre films, older blockbusters, exploitation, trash, underground and experimental films. The focus is on the cinematic experience and movie enjoyment. We show almost all films in their original format and version and offer space for discussion and exchange.

Together with our long-standing cooperation partners, we create a self-determined and advertising-free cultural program. With admission starting at €4 and many free events, we are open to all those interested in culture and are committed to maintaining this free and independent space for cultural exchange in the future.
