The Bund Deutscher Pfadfinder_innen (BDP) is a nationwide active grassroots democratic youth association that is critical of racism, consumption and society, queer-feminist, nature and experience-oriented and non-denominational. The BDP works selflessly and aims to promote the social participation of children and young people. The Bremen-Lower Saxony regional association runs three open youth work facilities in Bremen: the Mädchen_kulturhaus in the Mitte district, the Jugendhaus am Hulsberg in the eastern suburbs and the Freizi Huchting.
The BDP Jugendhaus Hulsberg is an over 100-year-old old Bremen building on the edge of the eastern suburbs that has been used by the BDP since the early 1980s.
We offer young people support in developing, organizing and implementing political, artistic, cultural, ecological or experiential education projects in a self-determined and independent manner. We also work together with schools, particularly for seminars and workshops. During the vacations, we offer special projects, trips or camps for children and young people.
Today, the rooms of the BDP House are used for a variety of activities by different people and groups: whether for seminars, workshops, acrobatics, parties, concerts, bicycle repairs, building, handicrafts, project preparation, self-organized group meetings or simply as an open meeting place for teenagers and young adults. There is also a band room available for young musicians to rehearse.
If you are interested in using our rooms or getting involved in any other way, please contact us!
