Freya-Frahm-Haus

The Freya-Frahm-Haus is located at Strandstraße 15 in Laboe, overlooking the Kiel Outer Fjord. It is one of the oldest houses on the promenade and was built in 1896. From 2014 to 2016, the municipality refurbished and carefully renovated the house.

The town owes this "treasure" to its fellow citizen Freya Frahm, who died in 2010 and wanted to create a "house of culture and encounter" with this donation. It was her intention to preserve Laboe's historic and traditional townscape in this privileged location.
In December 2012, the "Freya-Frahm-Haus e.V." association was founded to support the municipality's courageous decision to turn Freya Frahm's house into a meeting place for cultural and artistic use.
The view of the Kiel Fjord and the expansive beach form a wonderful backdrop for "culture with a view".
