In our bookshop you will find carefully selected children's, youth and adult literature as well as special treasures for young and old: sustainable toys & handicrafts, a range of baby products, special gifts, natural room sprays as well as jewelry, occasion-related cards, wrapping paper and many other beautiful things in life :)

Our products are carefully selected and manufactured under humane conditions that do not harm people, animals or the environment. We take care to keep distances short, purchase natural electricity, use ecological packaging material and other work utensils, avoid plastic as far as possible and work with small publishers and, in the non-book sector, with many small, family-run businesses.

Our focus in literature is on diversity, tolerance and empowerment. Our children's books include people of all skin colors, all characteristics and are gender-neutral. The books we stock in our bookshop aim to break the stereotype of "mermaids for girls" or "dinosaurs for boys" and put an end to it. Whether cis, trans, genderfluid, bigender, pagender, gender-neutral or third gender: our aim is to show diversity in all its beautiful facets and anchor it even more firmly in society.

We also want to strengthen families with our range of literature in order to create a loving and equal relationship in which parents are prepared to grow with their children. Because "children are born with all social and human characteristics. To develop these further, they need nothing but the presence of adults who behave humanely and socially." (Jesper Juul).

On our "parents' shelf" you will find inspiring books by Jesper Juul, Gerald Hüther, André Stern, Mathias Voelchert, Margret Rasfeld, Arno Grün, Remo H. Largo, Nora Imlau, Helle Jensen, Marshall B. Rosenberg and many other authors who stand for equal relationships and non-violent communication.

As a certified familylab seminar leader & coach, Happy owner Nana Agic-Kunisch is happy to be the first point of contact for family issues and/or conflicts and, on request, will establish a suitable contact for appropriate family counseling.

Equal relationships are also needed in the world of work, which is why adults can find informative literature on the topic of "New Work" in addition to novels and thrillers. What does the future of our working world look like? How do we create a better and healthier business world in which we can be who we are, which is fairer, more ethical and more sustainable, which makes us happier and creates less pressure? Many answers can be found in books such as "Reinventing Organizations" by Frederic Laloux, "New Work needs Inner Work" by Joana Breidenbach & Bettina Rollow or "Starting a Revolution" by Naomi Ryland.

For connoisseurs, we offer coffee specialties, homemade cakes (also vegan & gluten-free) and various delicacies in our small garden café. All organic. All fresh. And of course to take away in reusable cups. We get our absolute favorite coffee, fairtrade of course, from koffielovers(www.koffie-lovers.nl) from South Holland, a small, owner-managed, young coffee company that has turned its passion into a profession and has been supporting environmentally conscious cultivation under fair conditions since 1998. In 2020, we drank the coffee for the first time in the "Hippie Fish"(https://www.hippiefish.nl/) beach bar in Zandvoort and agreed that it was pretty much the BEST... See for yourself :)

Happy Birthday!
A great idea for any upcoming children's birthday: the Happy Kids gift box. The birthday child chooses presents from us in advance and puts them in the personalized box with their name and birthday on it. The invited guests can then come to Happy and choose a present for the birthday child. This way you can be sure to have just the right thing :)
