Here you will find an impressive collection of ceramics from all corners of the world, which can be up to 8000 years old. The exhibition covers more than 8500 m² and houses, among other things, ancient and pre-Columbian ceramics, rare stoneware vessels, valuable porcelains and Islamic ceramics. Especially the redesigned Asian department from 2018 is worth a visit. The Hetjens Museum, named after its founder Laurenz Heinrich Hetjens, is the most universal ceramics museum of its kind and has been open to the public since 1909.
