Culture in the factory The honey factory, built in 1906, was originally used as a margarine factory. It got its current name because of a honey company that set up shop there before the building was converted into a cultural center. Then industry left and culture came. In the cultural wasteland of Wilhelmsburg, the self-managed socio-cultural center emerged from the activities of the Wilhelmsburg Youth Center Initiative.

Cultural guiding principles: The most important principle of the center is to enable independent action. The Honigfabrik offers spaces, ideas and support for people who want to be creative in a self-determined way and in joint action with others.
