Your investigation begins on the beach in Eckernförde, not far from the famous mermaid "Mareminde". Your search for clues begins here, where walkers normally enjoy the fresh Baltic Sea air. From there, the trail takes you right across the town and shows you the different facets of this maritime town.

At the harbour, you can experience typical coastal life up close - fishing boats, seagull calls and the smell of fresh fish characterize the atmosphere. The Kurpark, on the other hand, is quieter: green spaces, old trees and hidden paths offer a pleasant contrast. The view of the sea accompanies you along the promenade, while small details and surprising discoveries line your path.

St. Nikolai's Church is also one of your stops and is one of the city's defining buildings. Eckernförde shows its sweet side in the sweet factory, while the winding alleyways and former fish smokehouses are reminiscent of the long tradition of the famous Eckernförde sprats.
