Your search for clues starts at the crime scene in the Palastgarten, a green oasis right in the city center. Between manicured avenues and extensive lawns, you will not only discover several investigation stations, but also a Roman excavation site - a perfect introduction to Trier's ancient past.

From there, the route continues through the city center, past real landmarks of the city. The imposing Basilica of Constantine, once the throne room of a Roman emperor, is one of the largest surviving hall buildings of antiquity and makes for an impressive backdrop. The lively main market with its historic facades and street cafés also invites you to linger - and perhaps a crucial clue is hidden right here.

Of course, the trail also takes you to Trier Cathedral, the oldest episcopal seat in Germany, which breathes history with its mixture of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Another highlight is the craftsmen's fountain, which is a reminder of the city's traditions with its detailed figures.
