The Kunsthaus Hamburg is a center for contemporary art.

It acts as a participatory exhibition venue, an artistic production site and a platform for cultural-political discussion and reflection. Centrally located in the former market hall, the institution presents up to six changing solo and group exhibitions of visual art and related disciplines every year. In collaboration with both young, up-and-coming and established artists, an experimental program is created specifically for the exhibition hall. In keeping with the founding idea, the Kunsthaus creates visibility for artists and cultural players in the city. It sees itself as an open, globally networked platform. The focus on the local scene is expanded to include international positions. As a dynamic place with fluid structures, the institution collaboratively promotes diversity and offers space for socially relevant discourse.
