The Lagerhaus cultural center is an open house for urban cultural innovation processes and project ideas. The non-profit, publicly funded institution is open to cultural workers, environmental activists, people with a migration background and those interested in education, open to guests, friends, sponsors and also open to suggestions and criticism.

The cultural center is rooted in the district and creates a broad urban cultural public in Bremen and beyond the city limits. Tasks are organized in a spirit of solidarity and democracy, and value is placed on transparent decision-making processes and lively internal and external communication.

The Lagerhaus promotes cultural/social integration and international understanding while preserving cultural independence. The employees present and develop innovative artistic, communicative and media activities, live an intercultural coexistence and operate sustainably. The house is committed to the diversity of the independent cultural and project scene. It supports networks and cooperations that create synergies as a contribution to the further development of Bremen into a cultural city of European significance.

The Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus is the city's cultural innovation and start-up center for the development of cultural industry projects. The triad of culture, migration and ecology as well as the cross-sectional task of education under one roof establishes the unique selling point as a socio-cultural institution of Bremen's urban culture.

The aim is to create meaningful and qualifying jobs in all areas of work, taking into account aspects of gender mainstreaming.

The Lagerhaus sees itself as a learning cultural center that regularly reflects on and evaluates its own actions. Quality development and quality assurance are developed as an ongoing process of work, whereby responsibility towards the customers is of particular importance. Customers are the user groups and visitors to the house, the participants in educational programs as well as the supporting facilities, authorities and institutions.
