Museum St. Laurentius - Duisburg - Rheinhausen - Eisenbahnsiedlung

The Museum St. Laurentius, Duisburg-Rheinhausen-Eisenbahnsiedlung presents the extensive artistic legacy of Sándor Szombati (1951 - 2006) in its permanent exhibition. The work of the Hungarian artist, whose studio was located in Rheinhausen-Friemersheim until his death, mainly comprises sound, magnetic and gravitational objects; it has been exhibited in museums, art associations and galleries in Germany and Italy and can be found in various museum and private collections.

The annual special exhibitions usually present rediscovered artists of the "lost generation", i.e. those who began their careers in the Weimar Republic and were mostly forgotten after the Second World War. The curators track down their pictures and trace their careers. Each exhibition is accompanied by a catalog.

Das Museum ist an jedem ersten Sonntag im Monat von 14 Uhr bis 17 Uhr geöffnet. Führungen zu den Ausstellungen werden individuell durchgeführt.
