ROXY Ulm

With four playable halls, around 100,000 visitors a year and 300 events in the fields of music, cabaret, comedy, literature, theater, dance and visual arts as well as interactive formats and parties, ROXY is one of the largest socio-cultural centers in southern Germany.

In 2019, Ulm's ROXY celebrated its 30th anniversary: in 1989, the "Roxy" initiative laid the foundations for an alternative cultural center in the former Magirus factory halls, where it is still active today. The original sponsoring association became a non-profit limited company years ago. A total of 70 to 80 people currently work regularly at ROXY, including full-time staff, volunteers and part-time employees.

The program is essentially based on an open and low-threshold understanding of culture. Our aim is to provide as broad a target group as possible with a high-quality and varied cultural program and to consciously promote artistic forms that are outside of the beaten cultural track. Particularly important for our work are collaborations with various actors from the artistic, social and educational fields, with whom we work together in the form of projects. For some years now, we have also regularly acted as a production venue for independent dance and theater productions.
